Dzulkifli Ahmad says he has accepted Mohd Shukri Abdull's apology for calling him a traitor.
PETALING JAYA: Former Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief Dzulkifli Ahmad says he has accepted the apology of his successor Mohd Shukri Abdull who yesterday called him a “traitor to the nation”.
In a statement today, Dzulkifli said he viewed the accusation very seriously, adding that he had always carried out his duties in a responsible and professional manner throughout his 25 years in the civil service.
“Nonetheless, I am deeply moved by Shukri’s WhatsApp message to me this morning apologising for the statement he made.
“I accept his apology wholeheartedly and both of us consider the matter settled.”
Shukri had made the remark during a press conference at the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya, saying he had retired before Dzulkifli became chief as he did not want to work under a “traitor to the nation”. -FMT
