Go ahead, sue - Guan Eng ends presser but Arul poser too tempting

After about 20 minutes of fielding questions, Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng decided to end his press conference at his ministry in Putrajaya.
Thanking the media, he was about to leave when he heard reporters asking him about 1MDB president and chief executive officer Arul Kanda Kandasamy's statement about mulling legal action against him.
Returning to the podium, Lim quipped: “Last question for Arul Kanda. A popular demand.”
The finance minister said the 1MDB CEO has the right to sue him but reminded Arul Kanda that his ministry owned the strategic development fund.
“Arul Kanda has made many promises. So if he said if he wants to sue, we will be waiting for him. I don't know whether he will do that but he is free to do so.
“I think he must bear in mind he is the only employee of 1MDB and 1MDB is wholly owned by Finance Ministry,” he said.
Asked whether he would sack Arul Kanda, who is currently on garden leave, Lim told reporters to wait for any further development.
After Arul Kanda briefed him on the state of 1MDB yesterday, Lim, among others, accused the former as “dishonest and untrustworthy”.

The finance minister also revealed he has instructed the ministry's lawyers to review Arul Kanda's position as 1MDB president.
Arul Kanda, in his statement this morning, describedLim's remarks as unfair and disclosed that he is seeking legal advice on the matter. - Mkini
