KL mayor: There's a tender process which must be followed on state lands

There is a tender process which must be followed before state lands can be transferred to developers, according to Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) Mayor Amin Nordin.
He told Malaysiakini this in response to a Pakatan Harapan lawmaker's report with the MACC.
"These 64 lots were sold to private developers have already been reported to MACC and the National Audit Department last year.
“From this feedback, MACC had asked that every land go through the tender process.
"DBKL has also signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with MACC, to cooperate with MACC to allow them to observe the lands before there is an approval for the transfer,” he added.
Yesterday, Kepong MP Lim Lip Eng lodged a complaint with MACC against former federal territories minister Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor over the alleged sale of 64 plots of state land involving some RM4.28 billion, between 2013 and 2018.
He claimed that some of the lots had been transferred to Yayasan Wilayah Persekutuan and subsequently sold to private developers.
He also alleged that the transfer did not undergo a proper tender process.
Tengku Adnan, who is also Umno secretary-general and Putrajaya MP, was the former chairperson of Yayasan Wilayah Persekutuan.
Quizzed on who authorised the transfer of these lands, the mayor declined to comment.
"MACC will investigate this, and I can't tell here," he said.
"Some of these 64 lands were sold to private developers before I was appointed as the mayor,” he added. -Mkini
