ISKANDAR PUTERI: Johor Menteri Besar Osman Sapian has vowed to review any policies or programmes implemented by the previous state administration that are not in line with those of the Pakatan Harapan (PH) government.
He said any programmes or instructions by previous leaders which had not yet been implemented should be put on hold as PH’s priority at the moment was to fulfil its election promises to the people.
“This effort will start with the aim of implementing 10 promises within the first 100 days of our new government.
“Among them is the PH manifesto for the B40-income families (with household income below RM4,380) in Johor, namely providing 10 cubic metres of free water to residences as well as uninterrupted supply of quality water; launching the ‘Johor health card’ worth RM500 a year; and providing incentives worth RM1,000 to children who are successfully pursuing their studies at institutions of higher learning,” he said in a meeting with state government officials at Bangunan Sultan Ismail, Kota Iskandar, here yesterday.
Osman, who is also Kempas state assemblyman, said other promises include introducing the takaful scheme for senior citizens and group marriage incentives; upgrading Johor into a premier food hub; and upgrading public service networks with a focus on bus services, school buses and taxis.
He added that he would join the federal government in dropping the use of the 1Malaysia logo in the state. -FMT
