ROS drops disputes against Bersatu, says Muhyiddin

Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin has announced that the Registrar of Societies (ROS) has dropped its disputes against the party.
“As the party president, I have been informed by the ROS that Bersatu has been returned to its original status as a valid party,” he said during his speech at the Himpunan Merdeka Rakyat to celebrate the release of PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim from jail.
The ROS had instituted a provisional suspension on Bersatu a day before the dissolution of the previous parliament.
The Kuala Lumpur High Court has since lifted the provisional suspension via a stay and the case itself is still ongoing.
Muhyiddin also confirmed that the ROS has officially recognised Pakatan Harapan as a legal political coalition.
This was already reported earlier after a certificate of registration for the coalition was circulated on social media.
ROS director-general Surayati Ibrahim's decision to approve the registration came a week after the coalition won the May 9 general election, ending BN's 61 years in power since independence.
For the 14th general election, the Harapan component parties comprising PKR, DAP, Bersatu and Amanah had to contest using the PKR logo as the ROS had refused to register the coalition, citing procedural matters. -Mkini
