Rosmah urges enforcers to plug leaks on probe

Rosmah Mansor has urged authorities to plug leaks in their ongoing raid on premises linked to her husband, former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak – the details of which made it onto social media in real time.
"This, particularly, (includes) the details of the alleged items confiscated," said Rosmah through law firm Valen, Oh & Partners in a statement to Malaysiakini today.
Rosmah said that she and her family will continue to help investigators, but the leaks had caused a "media hailstorm" which appeared to be "targeted vilification of our family to provoke public anger."
"It is our hope that the authorities would observe the rule of law and due process, to avoid a premature public trial.
"Enforcement agencies should not be feeding social media trolls, but observe and uphold strict professionalism at all times," said Rosmah.
Police have been at Rosmah's home since 10pm Wednesday, and have carted away numerous boxes.
Najib’s lawyer revealed that the police had also spent many hours trying to pry open a safe.
Details on the contents of the safe and confiscated items made it onto social media after a purported police report on the raid went viral.
Many newspapers today also published a detailed list of these items.
It is understood that Najib is currently being investigated over money laundering allegations and the 1MDB affair.
Police also confiscated luxury handbags, cash and jewellery from a condominium unit in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday night, and conducted a raid at the Prime Minister's Office as part of the investigations. -Mkini
