Perlis mufti Asri Zainul Abidin is set to meet with Penang Deputy Chief Minister II P Ramasamy after weeks of trading barbs over controversial preacher Zakir Naik, and the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) movement.
Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Mujahid Yusof Rawa said he will mediate the closed-door meeting which is set to be held at his office in Putrajaya this month.
"Two days ago I contacted Ramasamy and Asri... I just received the good news from both sides. They have agreed to meet, with me as the middleman.
"It will be closed door... because we see that if it is done openly it may make things worse," Mujahid told reporters at the Parliament lobby today.
