Victim found bound-up and guarded by three men in a lodging house room after family in India reports ransom demand for RM200,000.
JOHOR BARU: Police have rescued a kidnapped male Indian national from a lodging house in Tampoi and arrested three Pakistanis found in the room with the bound-up victim.
The police raid followed a report made by the victim’s family in India on receiving a ransom demand from his abductors.
Johor police chief Mohd Khalil Kader Mohd said police raided the lodging house at 4.30pm on Saturday and found the 28-year-old kidnap victim tied up and guarded by the three Pakistan nationals in a room.
The family of the victim had lodged a report in India that the abductors had demanded a ransom of RM200,000 for his release and threatened to kill him, he added.
Mohd Khalil said the victim’s friend, also an Indian national, had lodged a police report in Shah Alam, Selangor, about the abduction.
The victim did not suffer any serious injury but was sent to hospital for a medical examination. -FMT
