Economic Affairs Minister Azmin Ali is convinced that those responsible for spreading the sex videos implicating him are from PKR.
“Yes. I am convinced,” he told reporters in Shah Alam this morning.
Azmin was asked if he now believes that it was an inside job after a PKR state chief had gone missing.
The Star reported that PKR internal WhatsApp groups have been abuzz regarding the whereabouts of this person.
It said the individual could not be contacted since the first clip of the alleged sex scandal implicating Azmin, who is also PKR deputy president, started circulating last week.
The Star said this person's name surfaced when Haziq Abdullah Abdul Aziz, who confessed to being the other person in the clips, was arrested at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) as he prepared to leave for Manila.
The daily quoted unnamed PKR leaders who said the state chief came into the picture as he is said to have relatives in the Philippines.
Although the Star did not mention his name, it is believed that the report was referring to PKR president Anwar Ibrahim's political secretary Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak.
Yesterday, Malaysiakini quoted a source close to the leadership claiming that Haziq did not meet Farhash, who is also the Perak PKR state chief, at KLIA.
Anwar has also repeatedly denied that he or his aides are behind the sex scandal.
