BE VERY CAREFUL ANWAR – AZMIN IS NO GENTLEMAN: ALREADY AT THE POINT OF NO RETURN, AZMIN WILL DRAG PKR DOWN WITH HIM AS GAY SEX SCANDAL BECOMES IMPOSSIBLE TO SHAKE OFF

THE divide in PKR will grow wider following the fallout from the sex video scandal that implicated party deputy president Azmin Ali, said grassroots members.
They said accusations and counter-claims from leaders allied to Azmin and those from the rival camp will only lead to deeper friction, resulting in open fight between the two camps.
“One group has accused the other of masterminding this scandal and there was obviously a denial.
“This dispute between the two camps has reached a shameless level. This war between the two camps is worrying,” said a former branch leader in Perak.

Another member, from the youth wing in Kampar, Perak, said PKR should instead focus on the cost of living, which is affecting the general public.
“Whatever it is about the video, let the police investigate.
“Why must we fight over this heinous sex clip?   PKR should focus on the cost of living,” said the youth member.
On Sunday, Azmin hinted that the sex video was created by hidden hands within the party to tarnish his image and end his political career.
The deputy president said the party’s discipline committee must investigate the circulation of the sex clips and find out the truth if it wanted the party to remain relevant to Malaysians.
Azmin also commented on the fact that there were PKR members outside the Dang Wangi district police headquarters to welcome his accuser, Haziq Abdullah Abdul Aziz, who was released on bail.
“I leave it to you to decide but, of course, it’s worrying and the top leaders must be bold to probe into the matter,” Azmin said when asked if this showed there was a rift in the party.
Party president Anwar Ibrahim urged his deputy not to make any speculation about any conspiracy or plot while secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said investigation will only be carried out by the police.

However, some PKR members want a thorough probe as it involved the party’s integrity.
“In New Malaysia, I have faith in the police force but I wonder why Haziq is the only one being investigated. Why not Azmin?” said a party member who wished to be known as Farhan.
“We are bored with the internal fight. No one benefits from it. We are quiet because we are disappointed. They refuse to unite, even refuse to come to meetings,” said Bob from Subang.
“If a general election is held tomorrow, no one will work for the party. Everyone is annoyed with dirty politics. They should work on national issues, not on sex clips. Let the police look into it, who are we to judge,” said Junaidah from Kuala Terengganu.
The war between Azmin and vice-president Rafizi Ramli’s camp started during the party elections last year and the animosity has continued to simmer among their respective supporters.
Political analyst Dr Awang Azman Awang Pawi branded the sex video as the mother of all conflicts in PKR, adding that the sex scandal has become another burden for Pakatan Harapan.
“It is the mother of all conflicts and if it is not dealt with properly, it will create a bigger problem not just for PKR but also for its leaders and those who voted for PH.
“After a year, there should be a celebration but it seems like we are going back into the old politics,” he told The Malaysian Insight.
The senior lecturer from Universiti Malaya said the effect will continue to haunt PH until the next elections.
“Leaders and grassroots members are confused, what is the direction? Four years to go, surely there will be more infighting in the party.”
