The MACC is probing two Malacca PKR leaders for corruption and abuse of power over a sand mining project in the state.
One of the leaders is said to be an elected representative.
An MACC source told Malaysiakini that the two had been called in last month for questioning.
"The case is still under investigation so we can't reveal more," the source said.
However, he said one of the leaders being investigated had allegedly booked a new Toyota Vellfire.
Malacca chief minister Adly Zahari and state PKR chief Halim Bachik did not respond to requests for comment.
Malacca PKR secretary Zambri Yusof claimed to have no knowledge of the matter. - Mkini
