SHAH ALAM: Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Abdul Hamid Bador said today it is not easy to investigate the sex video which had allegedly implicated Economic Affairs Minister Mohamed Azmin Ali.
During a forum organised by Sin Chew Daily and Sinar Harian here today, Hamid said he is not an expert in such a highly technical matter, but police have recruited experts to analyse the contents.
“It is not easy to probe and solve a case like this,” he said.
He said police have received instructions from the Attorney-General’s Chambers (AGC) on taking the next step.
Police will also get other opinions from entities with similar expertise, he added.
“It is only after that we can bring it to court and present all the evidence that we have,” said the IGP.
Former PKR Santubong Youth leader Haziq Aziz had confessed to being one of the two men in a controversial video released in June. He named Azmin as the other person.
Azmin has strongly denied the claim, saying it was aimed at killing his political career.
Hamid then announced a task force comprising senior police personnel and those from the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission and other agencies which would look into the authenticity of the sex clips. - FMT
