AN EVIL & RACIST CONSPIRACY: UNLIKE INCREASINGLY ‘DISHONEST’ MAHATHIR, PAKATAN YOUTH SHOOT STRAIGHT FROM THE HIP AT IGP – ARE YOU GOING AFTER OUR INDIAN REPS BECAUSE THEY CONDEMNED ZAKIR NAIK & HOW COME YOU DON’T BOTHER TO PROBE WHO IS REALLY FUNDING THE ALLEGED SOCIAL MEDIA PAGES OF THE LTTE IN MALAYSIA?

INDIAN Pakatan Harapan Youth leaders have demanded that police come clean on whether the recent arrest of alleged Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) supporters was aimed at vocal critics of preacher Zakir Naik.
Police have detained 12 ethnic Tamils in different states on suspicion of supporting the now-defunct terror group.
The group of PH Youth leaders, in a statement today, also urged the force to investigate Facebook pages purportedly created to spread the claim that critics of the controversial Zakir have links to LTTE.
“Police should explain if their recent dragnet targeted critics of the fugitive Zakir Naik. There is an online campaign portraying these critics as ‘terrorists’ and ‘LTTE members’.
“Are police using the same narrative in the recent arrests?” said the statement, signed by Indian leaders from the Youth wings of PKR and DAP.
The group said several social media accounts have been set up to spread such claims and make it seem as if LTTE is active in Malaysia.
“That armed group is dead and gone. These social media pages are run by people who were professionally hired to do the job. It’s obvious that someone is funding these pages. Who is funding these pages? Is the source of the funds legitimate? Police should investigate.”
Zakir, a Mumbai-born Muslim televangelist, was recently investigated by police over allegedly offensive remarks against Malaysia’s Hindus and Chinese. Police have submitted their investigation papers to the Attorney-General’s Chambers, and are awaiting further instructions.
Zakir, who holds permanent residency in Malaysia, is wanted in his home country for alleged money-laundering and hate speech, as well as inciting terrorism.
The Indian PH Youth leaders said police must look into Zakir’s activities in Malaysia to ensure that the country is not being used as a hub for the money-laundering that the preacher is accused of.
The group’s statement was signed by PKR Youth vice-chiefs Thiban Subbramaniam and Jestin Raj; Penang DAP Youth vice-chief Jason Raj; Penang DAP Youth assistant treasurer K. Kanesh; Seputeh DAP Youth chief Diccam Lourdes; Selangor exco M.U. Raja of PKR Youth; Janagaraj Subramaniam of Kedah PKR Youth; Mugheelan Sellathoray of Klang DAP Youth; and, Hareedass Chiltarasan of Seputeh DAP Youth.
Of the 12 men arrested in police’s probe into LTTE, two are DAP assemblymen, and one a member of PAS’ non-Muslim wing.
