Saddiq hopes Perak MB-DAP tiff resolved 'in the family' but evasive on apology

Bersatu Youth Chief Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman hopes the dispute between Perak Menteri Besar Ahmad Faizal Azumu and DAP can be resolved within the Pakatan Harapan "family".
However, he was evasive on whether Faizal should apologise to DAP over his remarks about battling them.
This comes just two weeks after Syed Saddiq himself demanded DAP central committee member Ronnie Liu apologise for criticising Bersatu chairperson Dr Mahathir Mohamad and the party.
Faizal in a video that went viral yesterday, said that he was alone in fighting puak (clans) DAP in his struggle to champion Islam and Malay lands. He has since claimed that his remarks were taken out of context.

When met after a ceramah in Tenggayun, Tanjung Piai last night, Syed Saddiq said he too had disagreements with coalition members but in the end, they stayed united.
"We are family, Bersatu, DAP, Amanah and PKR. Our strengths are our shared strength.
"If there are differences, we solve it as a family. Let's face it, we need one another, we must be one," he said when asked about Faizal's remarks.
The youth and sports minister then shared his remarks on his Whatsapp group with the media.
It was then that journalists, who did not attend the ceramah, questioned him on whether Faizal should apologise to DAP.
A link to an article regarding Syed Saddiq's own demands for an apology from Liu was attached with the question.
Syed Saddiq then referred to his earlier comments, which included a defence of DAP against accusations of being anti-Malay and anti-Islam.
He continued evading the question when pressed further, replying only that he will be speaking with DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng at a ceramah tonight.
Perak DAP is demanding an apology from Faizal, saying his remarks were "embarrassing" and in violation of Harapan's coalition spirit.
DAP advisor Lim Kit Siang, however, wants Harapan to focus on the Tanjung Piai by-election, a sentiment that Syed Saddiq concurred with.
Harapan is facing an uphill battle defending the Tanjung Piai seat, which fell vacant after its incumbent Md Farik Md Farid died in September.
DAP grassroots had previously told Malaysiakini that they are torn between their unwillingness to campaign for Harapan’s candidate Karmaine Sardini from Bersatu and wanting to see Wee Jeck Seng from rival party MCA defeated. - Mkini
