Klang hit by flash floods after continuous rain

KLANG: A few neighbourhoods here were hit by flash floods following heavy rain on Wednesday (Jan 29).

Continuous rains from 8am until 4pm caused floods along Persiaran Puteri in Bandar Puteri, Taman Sentosa, Jalan Kebun Nenas, Taman Maznah, Kampong Jawa, Taman Sejati and several other areas.

"Water from monsoon drains overflowed onto roads, causing bumper-to-bumper crawls at many areas.

"One area that was badly affected was the Sentosa neighbourhood," said Klang district Civil Defence Force operations officer Lt Muhammad Najib Mohamad Isahak.

At 6.30pm, traffic was still moving at a slow pace as ankle deep waters remained on roads along Persiaran Puteri in Bandar Puteri and other parts of Jalan Kebun Nenas. Water started subsiding at about 7pm. - Star
