KLUANG: A 37-year-old secondary school teacher is in critical condition after he was slashed by three masked men on Wednesday (Feb 12) morning at Taman Seri Impian Kopeta.
Kluang OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Abduh Ismail said S. Rajes suffered serious injuries to his head and limbs in the attack which occurred in front of his house at 6.30am.
ACP Abduh said that they received a distress call at 7.13am from Rajes' neighbour who witnessed the attack.
"According to the witness, he heard a loud scream outside and rushed out to see what had happened.
"He saw the victim being assaulted by three parang-wielding masked men, who then fled in a white Myvi," he said in a statement on Wednesday (Feb 12).
ACP Abduh added that the attack is believed to be due to vengeance as the victim's belongings were not stolen.
The victim is in critical condition and is currently receiving treatment at Hospital Enche Besar Hajjah Khalsom Kluang.
Police are investigating the case under Section 326 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing grievous hurt with a deadly weapon. - Star
