Perils PAS has said they are ready to join the state government under a BN administration if there is such a need, said the Perlis PAS commissioner Mohd Shukri Ramli.
Mohd Shukri (above) said this after the Perikatan Nasional government was formed at the federal level and he handed the matter over to Menteri Besar Azlan Man to decide.
“Next week, the state level of Muafakat Nasional will have a meeting, so far we have not discussed anything yet.
“That is up to the menteri besar, if he wants to appoint us (as excos), we have no issues with that,” he told Malaysiakini when contacted today.
He was replying to a question on how far the cooperation between Perlis PAS and Umno is after the two parties aided in forming PN which recently took over Putrajaya.
Previously, PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man had revealed that PAS was offered to fill a state exco seat in Perlis.
However, that offer was turned down to respect BN’s rights as the state government and PAS remains in support of their policies.
In Perlis, PAS has two state seats that are Sanglang and Guar Sanji.
Meanwhile, Mohd Shukri said his side has not demanded any positions in the state government even though PAS and Umno are now in a coalition.
“We did not demand any position. If there is no need for it, it is not a problem to me,” Mohd Shukri, who is also Sanglang assemblyperson, said. - Mkini
