'Ejen Ali The Movie' shortlisted for an international animation film award

Ejen Ali The Movie is in the running for the Best Animated Feature Film Award at the 24th edition of Cartoons on the Bay Pulcinella Awards.
The festival is slated to take place in Pescara, Italy, from Dec 3 to Dec 5 this year.
Primeworks Studios and WAU Animation said in a statement that the animation has now joined the prestigious ranks of more than 350 works from 20 countries that have been picked for the competition.
Primeworks Studios CEO Ahmad Izham Omar said the nomination is a huge honour to the company and the country.
"The opportunity to be featured among the best animation content from all over the world is a milestone achievement.
"I would like to offer congratulations to our partners WAU Animation for creating the rich universe and the heart-warm story seen in the film," he said.
Ejen Ali The Movie, which was released in 2016, has grossed more than RM30.8 million in the box offices in Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, and Indonesia.
The Pulcinella Awards are presented at the festival for excellence in animation production.
Organised by the public service broadcaster Rai Com, its purpose is to promote the activities of authors and producers from all over the world, offering an opportunity to meet with buyers, distributors and television managers.
The international juries for the film category this year are Stefania Ulivi (journalist, Corriere della Sera), Arianna Finos (journalist, La Republica) and Flavio Natalia (director and journalist, CIAK).
Ejen Ali The Movie follows 12-year-old Ali, who after being accidentally recruited as a spy, has grows to embrace his role in secret agency Meta Advance Tactical Agency to protect the futuristic city of Cyberaya from outside threats.
In another event, the film also represents the country at the Asean Film Week 2020, which will be held in Vietnam this month.
It will be featured in a series of free public screenings in Hanoi on July 20, Da Nang (July 23), and Ho Chi Minh City (July 24).
