'You can take it' - Syed Saddiq says won't delay bid to cast him out of Bersatu

Malaysiakini

Former Bersatu Youth chief Syed Saddiq Abdul Rahman said he would not further delay efforts to rid him from the party and would, therefore, withdraw his legal challenge against his removal.
"I will be withdrawing my civil suit against my sacking as a Bersatu member.
"If you want the party, then take it. If you want to throw my membership number, then do so. I won't delay your efforts," he said in a statement.
Bersatu had declared the party membership of Syed Saddiq and several other MPs aligned to Langkawi MP Dr Mahathir Mohamad void for sitting with the opposition during the May 18 Dewan Rakyat session.
Mahathir, whose position as Bersatu chairperson is also in dispute, is presently engaged in a power struggle with party president Muhyiddin Yassin.
"When my service in Bersatu and the youth wing is no longer needed, then it is time for me to go," he said.
Syed Saddiq, who is the Muar MP, did not reveal his future plans but they would be for the country and youths.
Syed Sdaddiq added that the path he was taking was not an easy one.
"Those who are aligned to me will receive the same fate - they will be threatened, removed from positions and cast far away," he said.
Earlier today, Bersatu announced that the wing's vice-chief, Mohd Aizad Roslan would take over as the acting head of Bersatu Youth.
However, he said one must appreciate the purpose of a political party.
"We need to understand that a political party is a vehicle to defend the people and the country.
"It is not a tool for individual interest or to gain wealth and secure one's future. I'll march forward" he said.
Syed Saddiq said he would appreciate the experience in Bersatu Youth and considered them as family. - Mkini
