COVID-19 | Sabah deputy chief minister Jeffrey Kitingan tested positive for Covid-19 yesterday.
A statement by his press secretary Arlinsia Agang stated that Kitingan, who is also the state agriculture and fisheries minister, was found positive after he took a Covid-19 swab test yesterday.
He is undergoing treatment at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and reportedly in stable condition.
"Despite this setback, he will still carry out his responsibilities as the deputy chief minister and agriculture and fisheries minister through video conferences, emails and other means.
"In the meantime, Jeffrey said he is feeling fine and he calls for calm and prays that Sabah will be free from Covid-19," his press secretary said.
Covid-19 cases involving ministers in Sabah are not new.
In October last year, Sabah Chief Minister Hajiji Mohd Noor contracted the coronavirus a few days after he was sworn in as chief minister on Sept 29.
Earlier, his aide Noorzain Tawi had died due to Covid-19 on Oct 24. - Mkini
