KOTA KINABALU: Chief minister Hajiji Noor said Sabah will get priority in all the initiatives and economic stimulus packages introduced by the federal government to cushion the impact of Covid-19 on the economy.
He said this included the RM15 billion Permai assistance package announced by Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin on Monday.
Hajiji said the latest package would help to alleviate the hardship faced by the people during this difficult time.
“Sabah is among the worst hit by the pandemic. The state government will work closely with Putrajaya to ensure we will be prioritised in all its initiatives,” he said in a statement here today.
However, he warned the people that the road to recovery would not be easy due to the pandemic’s impact on the economy.
“But, make no mistake, the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah government is taking every possible measure to ensure the state’s economy will recover,” he said. - FMT
