The Higher Education Loan Fund (PTPTN) will open applications for a further three-month loan moratorium extension to those who are still struggling to make repayments amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
PTPTN granted a blanket moratorium on repayment to all borrowers since March 31 last year, but the freeze expired yesterday.
Higher Education Minister Noraini Ahmad said the government is prepared to give a further three-month moratorium extension to qualified borrowers.
"The decision was made because the government is concerned and aware that there are still PTPTN borrowers who have been impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic and are still unable to make repayments.
"Affected PTPTN borrowers can submit their application through PTPTN's official portal from Jan 5 until March 31," she said.
Noraini said the three-month extended moratorium would take effect from the day the application is approved. - Mkini
