Outspoken Pasir Mas MP is new PAS Youth chief

Ahmad Fadhli Shaari is known to be an outspoken MP in the Dewan Rakyat, having repeatedly urged Putrajaya to stop four-digit special lottery draws.

PETALING JAYA: Pasir Mas MP Ahmad Fadhli Shaari has been elected the new head of the PAS Youth wing today, with Afnan Hamimi Taib Azamudden to serve as his deputy until 2023.

Fadhli is known to be an outspoken MP in the Dewan Rakyat, having repeatedly urged Putrajaya to retract its decision to allow more special four-digit lottery draws to be held or face “greater opposition”, both in and outside Parliament.

Earlier this month, he had also given former finance minister Lim Guan Eng rare praise for allocating RM100 million for tahfiz schools under the 2020 budget when Pakatan Harapan was in Putrajaya.

Fadhli, an Al-Azhar University graduate, is also chairman of the Skills Development Fund Corporation (PTPK).

Fadhli replaces Khairil Nizam Khirudin, who was appointed PAS Youth chief in 2019 and opted against defending the post this time around.

Fadhli was also Khairil’s deputy previously, while Afnan was the vice-chief.

The new PAS Youth vice-chief is Hanafi Zulkapli.

The rest of the committee members are: Hafez Sabri, Ahmad Nawfal Mahfodz, Hanif Haron, Muhd Khidhir Izaidin, Khairul Nadzir, Wan Abu Bakar, Arifiriazul Paijo, Abdul Malik Abd Razak, Hilmi Ismail, Nurul Amin Hamid, Mohd Saifuddin Hassan and Ahmad Bilal Rahudin. - FMT
