PKR president Anwar Ibrahim wants the 12th Sarawak state election postponed if data shows the public's health and safety will be at risk due to Covid-19.
“To postpone the election, there have to be discussions related to safety and health.
“If health is a concern, I agree (to postponing the state election). We want to see the data and the science,” he said.
He was speaking at the Selangor Townhall Undi18 event in Shah Alam, Selangor today.
Anwar said this in response to an appeal sent by PKR Sarawak to the Election Commission (EC) to postpone the state election.
Yesterday, it was reported that PKR Sarawak appealed to the EC to put off the Sarawak state election amid rising Covid-19 cases and deaths in the country.
