As a court verdict looms over the former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak (above), his daughter Nooryana Najwa Najib has called for prayers to beseech God to give him strength and justice.
“As servants of Allah, we can only plan and pray for the best.
“Faced with many challenges, but remain calm, faithful, and belief in truth – truth in the world and in the afterlife.
“Pray for daddy to be given strength to face all these challenges, and may the verdict tomorrow give him justice,” she wrote on her Instagram account this evening.
The Court of Appeal in Putrajaya is due to deliver its verdict tomorrow on whether Najib succeeds in his appeal to quash his conviction and sentencing in the RM42 million SRC International case.
On July 28 last year, the High Court in Kuala Lumpur had convicted Najib for seven counts of abuse of power, criminal breach of trust and money laundering in relation to the case.
Ahead of tomorrow’s verdict, Najib and his wife Rosmah Mansor had travelled to Singapore to visit Nooryana, who was then expecting to give birth to her second child soon.
The Court of Appeal proceedings tomorrow morning will be held online due to Najib and several members of his legal team coming into close contact with a Covid-19 positive person and need to be quarantined. - Mkini
