PETALING JAYA: A 25-year-old man was arrested in Ampang yesterday for injuring his younger sister and his grandmother at their house in Kampung Tasik Tambahan.
In the incident that happened on Tuesday, the suspect, a security guard, had thrown a couple of pails at his 23-year-old sister and slapped his 64-year-old grandmother, before pouring warm tea all over her.
According to Ampang Jaya police chief Farouk Eshak, the suspect assaulted them after his sister glared at him when he arrived home from work in a bad mood.
The man was arrested after the suspect’s sister lodged a police report on the day of the incident.
“The complainant suffered injuries to her shoulder, while her grandmother was injured on her cheek. They received treatment at Ampang Hospital,” said Farouk in a statement.
The suspect has been remanded until July 3. The cops also confiscated the two pails used in the incident.
The case is being investigated under Sections 323 and 506 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt and criminal intimidation, which is punishable with up to a year in prison, a fine, or both. - FMT
