Uproar in Dewan over Langkawi MP’s ‘lewd invitation’ to Kok

Shuhaimi Abdullah said he was curious as to what Teresa Kok would wear to Langkawi.

KUALA LUMPUR: An opposition MP has told a government backbencher that she could visit Langkawi without any clothes.

The lewd remark came after Teresa Kok (PH-Seputeh) interrupted Suhaimi Abdullah’s (PN-Langkawi) 2024 supply bill debate to ask whether shorts can be worn in his constituency.

“I want to specifically invite Seputeh to Langkawi. It’s perfectly acceptable, even if you’re not wearing anything,” Suhaimi told Kok in the Dewan Rakyat.

“I also forgot to mention that I am quite curious about what Seputeh (Kok) will wear to Langkawi.”

In response, Kok, a former minister, accused Shuhaimi of being obscene, saying: “Your thoughts are not pure.”

Chong Zhemin (PH-Kampar) then chimed in and said public nudity was against the law.

“Please retract your statement. You can’t go without wearing anything,” he told Shuhaimi.

Deputy speaker Alice Lau intervened and then ordered the MPs to be seated, telling them to not waste any more time. - FMT
