PETALING JAYA: Chevron Malaysia, which operates Caltex petrol stations, is looking into a claim that a convenience store at a Caltex station in Penang has separate payment counters for Muslims and non-Muslims.
A spokesman for the company said it has been made aware of the incident involving its business partner FamilyMart, which operates the convenience store.
“Chevron takes this matter seriously and is working closely with our partner to investigate the allegation,” Chevron said in a statement to FMT.
A video clip making the allegation about the store in Bukit Mertajam has been going viral on social media since yesterday, with netizens condemning the purported action as dividing the nation further.
