KUALA LUMPUR: In the wake of the recent gas pipeline fire in Putra Heights, Prasarana Malaysia Bhd (Prasarana) is providing free, door-to-door van services for victims to commute between the temporary shelter at Dewan Masjid Putra Heights and affected residential areas.
The company said the initiative under the 'Prasarana Prihatin' programme will start from tomorrow until the situation stabilises and the victims can safely return to their homes.
"Prasarana will deploy six Rapid KL On-Demand vans to operate between the temporary shelter at Dewan Masjid Putra Heights and surrounding residential areas, including Putra Heights, Kampung Puchong Tengah, and Kampung Kuala Sungai Baru," it said in a statement tonight.
Prasarana said the initiative aims to support the victims by helping them retrieve essential items and personal documents from their residences while they are temporarily housed at the relief centres.
It said in addition to the free van service, traffic control officers and auxiliary police personnel will also be stationed at key locations to ensure the smooth operation of the service. - NST
