A stop-work order had been issued in November following complaints of an explosion, and an investigation found cracks on the 8th floor and above.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, construction company TCS Group Holdings Bhd told the bourse that its subsidiary TCS Construction had received approval from DBKL for the recommencement of work on Phases 2 and 3 of the project.
“Construction work on Phase 1 would proceed once the necessary foundation strengthening is fully completed and verified by other parties,” the company said, Bernama reported.
The announcement comes almost six months after the city issued a stop-work order on Nov 7 following complaints from nearby residents about an explosion at the site. An investigation found cracks in the shear walls, columns, and floors of units on the 8th floor and above.
DBKL said the stop-work order would remain in place until the required actions are carried out. “The cause of the explosion and structural failure will only be determined once the structural integrity report is submitted to DBKL”, it said then.
J Satine is a mixed-use development project located in Setapak, consisting of 3,600 units of Residensi Wilayah apartments, 661 units of small or home office and 42 commercial units.
TCS director Tee Chai Seng said DBKL’s decision acknowledged the project’s safety and stability outlined in the independent report.
TCS will continue to work closely with all stakeholders and comply with the conditions set by DBKL, he said. - FMT
