PKR deputy president Nurul Izzah Anwar has penned a tribute to Rafizi Ramli following the latter's resignation as economy minister, hailing him as a fearless individual who spoke truth to power.
Nurul Izzah (above, right), who unseated Rafizi as PKR deputy president in the recent party election, said he had introduced ideas and principles that changed Malaysia's political discourse - especially in terms of good governance, transparency, and economic justice.
"His ideas will not be forgotten. Instead, they will be continued, refined, and implemented, not because they came from him or me but because they are good for Malaysia," she said on Facebook.
The former Permatang Pauh MP added that Rafizi's ideas will always be a source of strength, regardless of whether he is in the government or not.
"The country needs bold ideas and measures, and I believe that he (Rafizi) still has much to contribute.
“Wherever he goes next, I am confident that Rafizi will continue to shape the country's future in meaningful ways," she said.
Rafizi today announced his resignation as economy minister following his defeat in the PKR election.
He had earlier vowed to step down if he failed to defend his deputy presidency in the party.
Curbing money politics
Meanwhile, Nurul Izzah said she will focus on strengthening PKR, with an emphasis on monitoring the top leadership and ensuring that vital measures are properly implemented.

As a start, she said, the party will introduce mandatory anti-money laundering, anti-corruption, and tax compliance training to all party leaders, including at the central, state, and branch levels.
She said this is vital to curb the culture of money politics and to ensure all leaders understand their responsibility and protect their integrity. - Mkini
