SIBU:
Police have appealed to those with missing relatives or friends to identify the body of a man found floating in the Rajang River, Kapit, today.

Kapit police chief Rohana Nanu said a member of the public alerted police after spotting the body at 11.25am near Wharf Kapit.

“By the time police arrived, the body had been swept away by strong currents.

“It was later found by the fire and rescue department and civil defence force personnel at Teluk Selindung at 12.10pm, about 5km from Wharf Kapit.

“The body has been sent to Kapit Hospital for further action,” she said.

Rohana said the man was about 170cm tall, had light brown skin and was believed to be in his 40s.

“The man had a koi fish tattoo on the front of the right thigh and two ‘terung Iban’ (sour eggplant) tattoos on the front of both shoulders,” she said. - FMT
