Five nabbed over immigration stamp forgery

GOMBAK: Police have arrested four foreign men and a local woman believed to be involved in forging immigration stamps, following a raid at an apartment in Gombak earlier this week.

Gombak district police chief ACP Noor Ariffin Mohamad Nasir said the operation began at about 12.25pm on Oct 1, when a team from the district Commercial Crime Investigation Division detained a 27-year-old foreign man at an apartment in Gombak.

"A further search of the rented apartment unit led to the seizure of items suspected to be used to forge immigration stamps," he said in a statement today.

All suspects have been remanded from Oct 2 to 8 to assist investigations under Section 420 of the Penal Code for cheating.
