The Bersatu disciplinary board is set to hear allegations against party supreme council member Wan Saiful Wan Jan and five others during a proceeding at its headquarters in Petaling Jaya tomorrow.
When contacted, the Tasek Gelugor MP claimed he had been summoned to face the committee chaired by Radzi Abdul Manan to answer for his “attacks” against Bersatu secretary-general Azmin Ali.
The board is set to convene from 11am to 5pm tomorrow.
“Yes, I have been called to answer for my attacks against Azmin.
“Apparently, these days criticising Azmin equates to attacking the party,” Wan Saiful told Malaysiakini, in reference to his statements against the former Gombak MP during a Sept 29 press conference.
Wan Saiful said his relationship with Azmin has been “hot and cold” since last year, allegedly due to new developments in an investigation over a 2019 video scandal that implicated the then-cabinet minister.
He also launched fresh allegations against Azmin, claiming that the skewed narrative of attempts to topple party president Muhyiddin Yassin originated from the former Gombak MP.
While Wan Saiful today claimed he will be made to answer for his allegations against Azmin, the Bersatu disciplinary committee had initially summoned him on Sept 25 - of which proceedings were later postponed.
Prior to the initial proceedings, it was reported that Wan Saiful had been summoned to face the board for collecting statutory declarations (SDs), ahead of Bersatu’s annual general assembly earlier last month, for an alleged attempt to push for party president Muhyiddin’s resignation.
Berita Harian reported that the four others summoned comprise Machang MP Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal, Ipoh Timor Bersatu division chief Fadhli Ismail, Ampang division chief Isa Saidi and Pendang division chief Abdul Razak Khamis.
Malaysiakini learnt that the last and sixth Bersatu leader to be summoned tomorrow is Hang Tuah Jaya Bersatu division chief Azrudin Md Idris. - Mkini
