BN deputy chairman Mohamad Hasan says a meeting will be held to resolve any misunderstandings over MIC's role in the coalition.

He expressed hope that the meeting would clear up any confusion or misunderstanding regarding the party’s position in the coalition, Bernama reported.
“We will meet. I will personally meet the MIC leadership so that we can resolve this issue,” he was quoted as saying at the Binsulok voting centre.
Mohamad expressed confidence that MIC’s top leaders would carefully consider their next step, citing the party’s close ties with Umno and MCA since the country’s independence.
He said the friendship and political cooperation built over the decades should not be wasted on differences of opinion.
“So, if there is any misunderstanding, if there are any matters that need to be clarified, to be ironed out, it’s best that we discuss them so that this long-standing friendship doesn’t come to an end,” he said.
At MIC’s 79th annual general meeting, delegates unanimously agreed to defer the final decision on leaving BN to the central working committee and party president SA Vigneswaran.
The party has been weighing a departure from BN, citing dissatisfaction with its role in the unity government.
MIC, together with MCA and Umno, is a founding member of the pre-independence Alliance Party, which later became BN in 1973. - FMT
