Among the 55 seats being contested by GRS includes 40 it had held prior to the state assembly's dissolution last month.

The GRS chairman said his confidence was rooted in the strength of the coalition’s machinery, the cohesive cooperation between component parties, and the support received from locals on the ground.
Hajiji believes that GRS is in a good position to defend many of the seats it held prior to the state assembly’s dissolution, including Lumadan and Klias, Bernama reported.
“We are contesting for 55 seats and I am confident that we will win more than 40,” the Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah president added.
Hajiji’s Gagasan Rakyat is vying for 35 seats in the polls, followed by Parti Bersatu Sabah (11), Usno (two), Parti Cinta Sabah (one) and Parti Harapan Rakyat Sabah (one).
Five candidates are contesting as direct GRS members.
Among the 55 seats being contested by the coalition are 40 which it had held prior to the dissolution of the 16th Sabah assembly last month.
Winning 37 seats would give the party the simple majority needed to form the next state government. - FMT
