SHAH ALAM: A family of three faced a terrifying moment when a landslide struck the kitchen of their home in Kampung Orang Asli Bukit Manchung, Bukit Beruntung, Hulu Selangor, yesterday.
The incident reportedly occurred at the rear of their home.
The Hulu Selangor district office of the Civil Defence Force (APM) said it received a report at 6.30pm.
A team of two personnel, accompanied by three officers from the Hulu Selangor District and Land Office, rushed to the scene.
"Upon arrival, the team immediately assessed the situation and found that the soil was still shifting, and the weather was rainy. We also observed a stream of water in the area surrounding the landslide," APM said in a statement today.
No injuries were reported, and it said that it would continue to monitor the situation.
There was no need to open a temporary relief centres (PPS), as the family had moved to a nearby relative's home.
In a separate incident, a landslide occurred on Jalan Sungai Buaya, around 300 metres past the Eastern Coast Rail Link (ECRL) bridge crossing towards the Sungai Buaya toll.
The Hulu Selangor district Public Works Department (JKR) said one lane of the road had been closed, and heavy vehicles were directed to use the Bukit Beruntung toll instead. - NST
