Muda has announced that it will take a back seat in the upcoming Sabah state election and will not endorse anyone.
In a statement today, its Sabah chapter said its executive committee made the decision recently.
“The Sabah Muda state executive committee has decided to remain neutral and will not support any contesting party, whether local or national.
“Compete with integrity; present your offers and manifestos to the people so they can choose based on ideas, not money politics,” it added.
Muda also urged Sabahans to use their voting power wisely, choosing leaders who are honest, principled, and have a clear vision and mission for the region.
Sabah has been in turmoil since last year, following a series of video exposés that linked more than a dozen politicians, including senior state cabinet members, to a mining scandal.
However, only three individuals have been charged thus far, namely the whistleblower, businessperson Albert Tei, state assistant minister Andi Suryady Bandy (Tanjung Batu) and Yusof Yacob (Sindumin).

Yesterday, Upko announced its departure from Pakatan Harapan coalition following disagreements over the Sabah revenue entitlement issue and Sabah Harapan’s lack of autonomy.
The decision was made following Upko president Ewon Benedick’s resignation as entrepreneur and cooperatives development minister on Saturday over the revenue issue.
Sabah will go to the polls on Nov 29, with nominations set on Nov 15. - Mkini
