KUALA LUMPUR: A heartwarming video of pupils and teachers waiting at a jetty to welcome a new teacher has touched netizens' hearts.
In the video uploaded by a teacher who goes by Tok Ngulu on TikTok, pupils and staff can be seen waiting at a jetty for a new teacher to arrive at SK Nanga Telawan in remote Belaga, Sarawak.
A boat arrives and the new teacher disembarks to meet the school community.
The boat operator and a teacher then help the new teacher carry her belongings.
"Welcoming the arrival of a new teacher," the video's caption said.
TikTok users praised the school for the warm welcome.
"It's touching to see the children waiting for the teacher who will teach them to read and write," said user Maruko.
"I hope I get posted to a remote area like this. I really wish for it," said user Ema Aiyka.
