PETALING JAYA:
A female employee at a pharmacy in Shah Alam had a major scare in the shop’s restroom when she was bitten by a 2m-long python today.

The Selangor fire and rescue department said their personnel were able to free the 23-year-old from the snake’s grip on her leg, before sending her to hospital.

The department said it received a call about the incident at 3.46pm, with six firefighters from the Bukit Jelutong fire and rescue station arriving at the scene at 4.15pm.

“On-duty personnel successfully removed the snake, which had bitten her leg, and handed the victim over to health ministry personnel for further treatment.

“The python was later released safely into the wild,” it added. - FMT
