Investigations revealed the pair were never married, while the suspect’s real wife lives abandoned in Johor.
“Investigations found that the woman had no marital relationship with the deceased. They were only lovers who had been living together in Durian Tunggal for the past three years.
“The suspect’s actual wife is in Johor and was abandoned a long time ago,” Sinar Harian quoted Melaka Police Chief Datuk Dzulkhairi Mukhtar as saying.
More shockingly, the woman has 10 prior criminal convictions since 2012 for vehicle theft, armed robbery, attempted murder, and a fresh robbery in Jasin in July 2025. Her 55-year-old father is a wanted fugitive with 24 criminal records, including murder.
The three suspects, aged 24 to 29 and linked to “Geng Durian Tunggal”, were shot dead by police after one allegedly slashed a corporal with a parang during a 4.30am operation at an oil palm estate.
The gang was blamed for 22 robberies worth RM1.35mil. Families have rejected police claims of aggression, prompting Bukit Aman to form a special task force on Dec 4 to probe the shooting. — Focus Malaysia
