KUALA LUMPUR: A one-minute video showing a trailer ramming into a stationary Perodua Kenari at a roundabout in Sabah has gone viral on social media.
In footage shared by the DashCam Malaysia Facebook page, the trailer, which was carrying a load, failed to navigate the roundabout and instead continued straight ahead, striking the Kenari that was waiting for traffic to clear before entering.
The trailer then veered onto a grassy area.

The incident was reportedly recorded in Beaufort at 1.53pm on Dec 30, according to the dashcam timestamp.
A red Proton Saga positioned slightly in front of the Kenari at the time of the incident was also struck.
Following the collision, a passenger from the Proton Saga was seen exiting the vehicle to check on its driver before approaching the Kenari.
Numerous users speculated on why the trailer moved in such a way, resulting in the accident. Facebook user Jani Janali Mallaji questioned whether the vehicle's steering wheel was locked.
Meanwhile, Kamairudin Ismail suggested possibilities such as a broken steering wheel, faulty gears, or unaligned or worn-out tyres.
Other users, however, suggested it was a brake malfunction.
"This is a brake malfunction," commented Hafiz Husain.
The post has garnered nearly 7,000 views. - NST
