Operation Barbarossa was the code name for Nazi Germany's large-scale invasion of Soviet Russia, launched on June 22, 1941, during World War II. This operation marked the largest military offensive in history, involving around 4 million soldiers across a 2,000-mile front. Over a million Germans were killed in that really foolish military operation.
Operation Barbarossa was a colossal disaster for Nazi Germany, failing to achieve its goal of conquering Soviet Russia, opening the massive, brutal Eastern Front, and ultimately draining German resources, leading to a two-front war and contributing significantly to Germany's eventual defeat in World War II.
Well it looks like Reichs Kanzellor Merz wants to attempt a second Operation Barbarossa.
Here is Jeffrey Sachs penning an open letter to Merz, advising him against such a folly.
