PETALING JAYA: Police have arrested two women to assist in investigations into the death of a four-month-old baby boy at a daycare centre located at Seberang Jaya Hospital in Penang.
Penang police chief Azizee Ismail confirmed the arrest of the women, who are believed to be the daycare centre’s workers, according to MalaysiaGazette.
The case is being probed for murder.
The pair will be brought to the magistrates’ court tomorrow for remand proceedings.
The baby was reportedly sent to the daycare centre last night as his mother, a nurse, was working the night shift there.
The baby was rushed to the hospital’s emergency department at around 4am today.
Family members of the victim claim there were elements of abuse, citing CCTV footage retrieved from the daycare centre. - FMT
