KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the history in the Quran should not be taken lightly, as it provides important lessons to guide humanity and society in addressing present challenges.
In a Facebook post for Nuzul Quran today, Anwar said: "The month of Ramadan is not only marked by fasting, Quran recitation, and tarawih prayers, but also by the moment of revelation, regarded as a miracle with extraordinary transformative power.
"Through it, the jahiliah (ignorant) society was transformed into the khayra ummah (best community), as was the generation of the sahabat (companions), known as the generation of the Quran.
"The Quran fulfilled its purpose by strengthening faith, honouring humanity, and recording the mission of reform through historical accounts of the struggles of the Messengers (prophets), serving as guidance for humankind.
"May we make the Quran a guiding light that directs our steps, strengthens our faith, gives meaning to life, and helps build a prosperous and civilised society." - NST
