Are Malays Muslims “so weak, vulnerable” till they easily fall for the charade of the ‘notorious trio’?

BEYOND their fame as rabble rousers to national harmony in the eyes of non-Muslims, some Malay Muslims have begun to wonder if indeed they need the leadership of Malaysia’s three renowned (for the wrong reasons) Muslim convert preachers – Firdaus Wong Wai Hung, Zamri Vinoth and Prof Ridhuan Tee Abdullah.

Far from having turned the tables on the country’s ‘notorious trio’ who enjoy large fanbase from rightist Malays, digital creator Gang Utara Fan Club wondered if Malays “are weak” to be relying on them for spiritual guidance.

“Or are we Malays civilised in preaching? Are they both preaching true Islam?” asked the site administrator who claims to be disseminating information, repelling slander and correcting perceptions.

While non-Muslims were quick to remark that Malays are not weak “but easily fall for people who wear religious masks”, a handful of Malay Muslims reckoned that the trio have insulted Islam by riding on religion in the name of Muslim converts”, hence “aren’t worthy of being Islamic preachers”.

Another opined that the trio “should have stayed with their own race, need not be more Malay than the Malays or simply.to preach to his respective race”.

This prompted a non-Muslim to chip in by pointing at the inappropriateness of the non-Muslim preachers “wanting to convert the already Muslim Malays”.

“I’ve many Malay friends, with an imam of a mosque next door, then there is a religious schoolteacher as well as government officers and teachers who live in harmony and respect each other’s religion, customs and are all well-mannered,” shared the former company director.

“This is till three monkeys come to divide and incite hatred among us”.

Howevre, one Malay felt that his race is not weak but “just that Malays don’t wish to fight”.

“Malays understand the difference between sentiment and real issues, more so the agenda played by interested parties,” he revealed.

Interestingly, another Muslim digital creator challenged the trio “to first convince non-Muslims first about the purpose of this month of Ramadan and why you chose Islam”.

“The trio have two things in common. Firstly, they’re all Muslim converts. Secondly, they’rer deemed a musibat (catastrophe). Do you know why? Because today, one by one of them are making statements that are filled with hatred towards other races and religions,” fumed Nick Bravo.

“If this is how you behave, do you think non-Muslims would be convinced to get closer to Islam? No way! Why? They’ll simply be pissed off by observing how the trio who were once believers of their own faiths are behaving.”

In defence, Ridhuan Tee who was the former Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin Terengganu (UniSZA) professor, hit out at Malay Muslims for labelling him, Firdaus and Zamri as “three mualaf (Muslim converts), three catastrophes who are racists and out there to seek cheap publicity and are more Malay than the Malays themselves”.

“We understand if this (insulting criticism) come from the kafir harbi (belligerent infidel),” he penned in a Facebook post.

“But this come from Malays who claim to be Muslims … we don’t wish to say much except that what we do is better than being a bar*a (Malay slang for bootlickers), make what is haram to become halal, be in cahoots with the kafir harbi and abetting shirk and other forbidden stuff.

“My question to you guys is what are you doing for your noble religion and race? Understand fasting in its true sense so that we can enter heaven. Don’t be worse off than the ultra kiasu infidels.” –  Focus Malaysia
