The state PH sets up four new committees in preparation for the coming state assembly and parliamentary elections.

The committees are: a Madani committee, and committees on seat allocations; issues and communications; and coordination among federal ministers.
“We have placed committee leaders who are experienced, those who have previously served as state asemblymen, to head the committees,” said Aminolhuda. “These committees are aimed at streamlining the party’s operations in facing the coming elections.”
He said the Madani committee was established to ensure the state moves in line with the Malaysia Madani concept introduced by PH chairman Anwar Ibrahim, who is prime minister. It would ensure that policies related to development, the economy, education, and political stability are delivered and understood more clearly by the people.
Aminolhuda said the Madani committee will be chaired by Johor PKR deputy chairman Ysahrudin Kusni, a former state assemblyman for Bukit Naning.
He said Johor PH had proposed that the state assembly and parliamentary elections be held simultaneously to save government expenditure, while also making it easier for the Election Commission and voters.
“If the elections are held separately, on two occasions, all parties involved would have to raise funds and carry out preparations separately, which could disrupt the smooth administration of the government,” he said.
He added that Johor PH, as the opposition bloc, will soon submit the proposal to the Barisan Nasional-led Johor state government through Johor opposition leader Andrew Chen Kah Eng.
At the elections in 2022, Johor PH won 12 seats in the 56-member state assembly, BN (40), Perikatan Nasional (3), and Muda (1). The next state assembly elections must be held by mid-June next year. - FMT
