Police say a man was arrested but gave no details. The suspect is believed to be the son of a state assemblyman.

PETALING JAYA: A man believed to be the son of a state assemblyman has been arrested in Maran, Pahang, on suspicion of raping a girl earlier this month.
Berita Harian reported that the victim is 16 years old, while the suspect is 17 and a son of a state assemblyman.
Maran police chief Wong Kim Wai confirmed that a suspect was arrested yesterday following a report filed by the victim’s mother. He said the rape allegedly took place in a house in Maran after the girl had gone on an outing in town.
“Police are currently compiling the relevant statements,” he said, but did not provide further details about the victim and suspect.
He urged those with information to contact the nearest police station or the Maran police at 09-4771222. - FMT
