KUALA LUMPUR: The announcement of the Tabung Haji (TH) profit distribution today, the highest in eight years, reflects the reforms and good governance implemented under the unity government.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said these reforms also represent an effort to elevate and uphold TH in line with its original mission, which is grounded in trust management and responsibility towards the interests of the Muslim community.
"Alhamdulillah, today's announcement of the TH dividend, recording its best performance in eight years, comes as joyous news for Muslims ahead of Aidilfitri.
"This achievement reflects the results of reforms emphasising good governance, strengthening the institution's foundations, and restoring discipline and accountability in TH's management.
"These reforms also represent an effort to elevate and uphold TH in line with its original mission, which is grounded in trust management and responsibility towards the interests of the Muslim community," Anwar, who is also finance minister, said in a post on his Facebook page.
"May this good news increase gratitude and peace as we celebrate Aidilfitri and strengthen our confidence in our continued efforts to safeguard this institution for the collective benefit," he added.
Earlier, TH declared a higher profit distribution of 3.50 per cent after zakat for the financial year ended Dec 31, 2025 (FY25), compared with 3.25 per cent in FY24, marking its highest payout in eight years.
The distribution involves RM3.22 billion and will benefit more than 9.7 million TH depositors. - NST
