The national audit department says it does not impose any fee or appoint third parties to collect payments to approve audits.

The department said it was aware that letters and advertisements misusing its name and logo were making the rounds.
“We strongly deny any involvement in requests for payments to verify audits, release funds, or issue certificates.
“We confirm that such a letter, which contains the name and signature of an officer from the department and is currently circulating on social media, is fake,” it said in a statement.
It said it has lodged a police report over the matter.
The department said it does not impose any fee or appoint third parties to collect payments for audit approvals or certificate issuance.
Earlier today, investment, trade and industry minister Johari Ghani denied issuing letters requesting members of the public to deposit money into certain accounts for investment. - FMT
